Justin works with adolescents and adults, beginning with 12-year old pre-teens. Justin has demonstrated skill working with at-risk youth and takes pride in success stories. Justin has a passion for working with teens and young adults seeking help for life adjustment issues, school and social maladjustment, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. Justin’s friendliness, authenticity, humor, and direct communication result in rapid formation of therapeutic alliances with his clients.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Justin earned his Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and his Masters of Arts degree in Counseling from Oakland University, with a dual endorsement in School and Mental Health Counseling. Justin successfully integrates his passion for educational achievement with his passion for mental and emotional health in his work with clients. Justin has served as a clinician and as an administrator in a residential program and in a Day Treatment program for adjudicated teens, and has worked with children and youth in Day Camp Settings. Additionally, Justin has managed sober living homes for young adults, providing substance abuse counseling and mental health counseling.

Justin is confident that every teen and adult with whom he works has the capacity to make changes, and Justin’s foundational philosophy is that change begins inside of a strong therapeutic relationship. Justin uses an integration of modalities in developing treatment approaches, and relies heavily on Reality Therapy and Choice Theory, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Justin is comfortable integrating Christian principles in his treatment approach as requested.
