Kathleen M. Yaroch, MA, LPC, NCC

Kathy works with children (beginning at age 2), adolescents, adults, and families. She specializes in working with children and teens with emotional and behavioral challenges, and emphasizes a partnership with parents in order to assist the entire family with improved functioning. Kathy’s special areas of interest and expertise include working with people who present with symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Trauma, Bi-Polar Disorder, Depression, and Anxiety, including panic attacks.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Kathy has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a major in Language Arts (U of M), and has a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling ( Oakland University). She is a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Kathy successfully integrates her academic training in both education and counseling, and utilizes a variety of techniques and approaches, including play therapy. Her experience of working with difficult children in “real life” situations (school and home), help make her therapy practices applicable and beneficial in those settings. Her practical approach provides patients and family members with concrete ways to improve functioning.
