Ariel works with children, teens, adults couples, and older adults focusing on trauma and trauma informed care. Ariel works with her clients to assist in processing trauma, grief, day to day struggles, major life changes, as well as emotional/cognitive thinking that prevents clients from living their lives to the fullest.
Education and Experience
Ariel earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s degree in social work from Northern Michigan University where she was trained in psychodynamic therapy. Ariel received further training in Trauma-informed Treatment (TIT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Polyvagal Therapy (PVT). She has experience as a crisis therapist on a mobile crisis team in homes, hospitals, and working with law enforcement, where she worked with people experiencing crisis arising from Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, a psychotic episode or chronic psychosis, PTSD, suicide attempts, traumatic events, and substance abuse. Ariel has experience providing out-patient mental health therapy, utilizing play therapy and other experiential approaches with children, and integrating TIT, CBT, PVT, and other modalities when working with adolescents, adults, and couples.
