Lori works with adolescents (age 11+), adults of all ages and couples, and is experienced in individual, couples, and group therapy approaches. She specializes in the utilization of brief therapy, solution focused, cognitive behavioral therapy, stages of change, motivational interviewing, and cognitive restructuring strategies to instill hope and help focus clients towards meaningful self-exploration and growth.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Lori is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Michigan and retains social work licensure. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and her master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling form Oakland University. Lori is a certified counseling supervisor providing clinical supervision to limited licensed counselors who are in pursuit of earning full licensure. Lori is certified in MRT (Moral Reconation Therapy) and is trained in Trauma Informed Care. Lori has experience working in community mental health settings serving patients with a variety of mental health and substance use diagnoses. Lori has extensive experience treating juvenile and adult offenders in both outpatient and detention settings. Lori is experienced in providing parenting training and supervision, victim advocacy, substance abuse assessment and treatment, risk assessments, crisis intervention, advocacy, and dual diagnostic treatment. Lori also has administrative experience in coordinating activities for the development and management of small businesses.
